Spiritual Conflict Explodes In Cassadaga
Former Daytona resident, Katherine Irving announces the release of her second novel, Demons, Daughters & Father God, a supernatural thriller that is sure to cause a stir in Cassadaga and the surrounding areas.
February 19, 2004--Having called Daytona home for nearly twenty years, Irving remains enamored with lesser-traveled roads of the Florida coast, the Ormond Scenic loop and the softly sloped streets of Cassadaga. Irving has captured the beauty of Florida while penning a fast-paced, dark thriller based on a spiritual conflict between an ancient demon and unsuspecting visitors to Cassadaga.
Although Demons, Daughters & Father God is a work of fiction it is based on real experiences. Ex-tarot reader and now Sunday School teacher, Irving recalls a meeting in the Cassadaga hotel years ago. Seated with a medium in a brightly lit room on a hot summer day, she asked why a bible sat on a nearby table and what the medium thought about God. The womans answers stuck in her mind and eventually gave birth to the story.
Demons, Daughters & Father God comes on the heels of the release of Irvings speculative fiction anthology, Shivers. Amanada Kilgore, reviewer, commented, Drawing upon techniques mastered by Stephen Crane and Edgar Allen Poe, Ms. Irving uses minutiae to create a sense of dread from events not always fearful on the surface. Author of Convicted, Megan E. Hart said, ...she has an amazing ability to create characters voices. Belgium author, editor, Mayra Calvani wrote, In her distinctive and often darkly poetic style, Katherine Irving has woven a set of original, remarkable tales that will surely give you...Shivers.
Katherine Irving is an award winning author, book reviewer and non-fiction Christian author.
